The other day I took my girlies to the grocery store. In an effort to get out of there quickly and inexpensively I flew through the perimeter of the store---only hitting the bakery, produce, deli, meats, dairy, and then organic sections.
According to Consumer Reports, this is a better way to deal with a grocery store.
You'd think I'd have been a healthier shopper this way, except when I tell you what we had for dinner. Yikes! (I'm sure this will make my friend Nancy who has a food blog, grimace.)
On a suggestion of a coworker at the gallery who does wonders with crescent rolls and chocolate, I used a can of them (nice and healthy, right? They were the 'reduced fat' version. I think that means they only have a tiny bit less fake shortening or something) and rolled them with American cheese and ham. These cooked up nicely, and I could get away with calling them ham and cheese croissants.
To round out the meal, I steamed broccoli. Ha! Nice combo, eh?
Lucy ate it all up---including the broccoli which we tried to fool her by calling 'little trees.' Right. She told us it was broccoli and ate it begrudgingly.
Sorry I don't have pictures for you.
