
NPR had broadcast a compelling series about the plight of the nation's dairy farmers.

Near us, in No. Smithfield, RI, Wright's Dairy Farm is a wonderful farm that has been in business for more than 100 years. We occasionally drive over to 'see the cows, mama?' and to buy our fresh milk, cream, eggs, and splurge in the bakery.
It's not that far and it's nice to support a local dairy. (At Target and Stop and Shop I saw that their milk is from the Midwest.)
Here are photos from a trip we made a short (much warmer) time ago to visit the farm.
As I was telling my class recently, having children is such fun because you see things again through new eyes. Schmaltz-y but true.
