Haybales and Honeymoons

Time to jump on the blog bandwagon. Now that I'm working on being a full-time creative person, I wanted to create a blog. Hopefully the mission will be clear: give me an incentive and imperative to create.

Here is a painting I did of haybales. When I'm not too confident about my abilities or the work I have in progress, I revert to this subject. It's comfortable and textural. The bales are like wee sculptures in a field. Reminds me of my time painting in Brittany. Or our honeymoon where haybales were everywhere.

Last Sunday was our first anniversary. Amazing how quickly time goes by. What a great day we had. This year it's freezing. Last year it was a gorgeous summer day.

Being nostalgic, Tim and I have been thinking about our honeymoon in Scotland. The picture below will show you how perfect the location of our little holiday rental was. You can just see our small croft house in the distance.

I'm off to be creative. Wish me luck. It's always a bit scary to set out with that goal.
